YouTube listens to Users Complaints
10 June 2007

There were several news since the past weeks about YouTube changing it’s video player style. First people thought it was cool because when you put the mouse over the video it starts showing several related videos. And later as time passes by it starts to becoming annoying because sometime people couldn’t watch the video properly because sometimes mouse just goes over it and options just pops up. There were some bad comments lately about the new player and now finally YouTube has listen to its users.
The new YouTube video player would not have options popping up on the video when mouse over, but instead there is a “Menu” button at the bottom for people to click to see the related videos. So when you click on the “Menu” button, the video will be resized and the related videos thumbnails will appear like before and there will be ratings and names of the video on hover. You can try it with the video below on the iPhone Safari browser.
On the official YouTube announcement, people left comments like:
- “This idea is really repugnant. The more you muck with it, the worse it gets.”
- “ This options sucks… good bye to You Tube.”
- “ What a bad idea on an other wise great site.”
- “ I bet this seemed like a good idea, but it is so annoying.”
