Sony might have something to say towards the all-new iMac. The new Sony VAIO LT19U might be an all-in-one bill as the iMac because this VAIO comes with a Bluray-burner, pull-out sled for adding another hard drive and a VESA-standard wall mount input. Other than that it also offers an external ATI Digital Cable Tuner. The specification of this 22-inch widescreen LCD PC are as follow:
– Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Screen Resolution
– Processor: 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 CPU
– RAM: 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
– Harddisk: 500GB 7,200 rpm hard drive
– Video Card: 256MB Nvidia GeForce 8400 GT graphics chip
– Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate
– Wireless Interface: 802.11n wireless networking
– Extra Features: Built-in ATSC and NTSC TV tuner
– Camera: Built-in 1.3 megapixel Web cam
– Audio: 3 watt stereo speakers, and built in 5 watt subwoofer
– Extras: various USB, Ethernet, removable media, and audio ports

Does the price $2,899 sounds worth-it, Think about it!

    I would say for that price it is NOT a killer.

    Let us compare the iMac to the Sony.

    iMac 24″ -> $1799.

    Let us up the HD to 500GB - this adds $100
    So the iMac is now $1899. Let’s add another 1 GB of RAM (third party) - $75. So, $1974. Now, let’s add the HDHomeRun 2-tuner QAM/ATSC network box with eyeTV software for $200. Now the price is $2174.

    So, for $2174 you get

    2 tuner ATSC/QAM tuner (accessible by any computer in your home).
    1920×1200 native display instead of the 1680×1050. So 1080i/p content will be displayed natively without any scaling.
    2 Mpixel camera
    Mac OS X (enough said!)
    Better audio.

    So… Um it’s $2899. The 24″ iMac Core2Extreme is $2299 US.

    * 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme
    * 2GB memory
    * 500GB hard drive
    * 8x double-layer SuperDrive
    * ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB memory

    So you don’t have an ATSC Tuner, but you gain 2″ of screen space, and you get actual HD resolution (why have Blu-Ray in a PC without HD resolution SONY?).

    So tell me again why this is an iMac Killer? hehe.

    Yea that’s actually true…hehe But I would say it’s a bit different in terms of it’s spec, but basically Sony are trying to make it an iMac killer right?

    Wow, I am sure Mac buyers will jump that opportunity to go to another Windows computer that costs more than the iMac. Yeah, that’s it all riht sony.
    You have my business….Windows…Love that O.S.
