Thais Finally able to Access Youtube

1 September 2007

youtube.gifYes, YouTube is finally unblocked in Thailand after the long waiting problem since April 2007. Thais have been waiting and waiting to access YouTube, but due to their respect for the King, they didn’t have any problem waiting. The problem was caused when one guy uploaded the video called “Thai King - King of the Apes” which contains rude and insulting images of the Thai King. And the Thai Military appointed government tried to talk to YouTube to let them remove, but they wouldn’t agree. One of the guy from Ministry of Information and Communication Technology came out and said about the Ban of YouTube “We have blocked YouTube because it contains a video insulting to our king”. Now since the video has been removed, Thais can access YouTube for both learning and entertainment purposes. During the Military government takeover, their was several websites which was Ban because the site has certain materials which is against the Thai Culture.

So Thais, Congratulations and Hope you have fun with YouTube!!!
