Toshiba Ultra-Portable Protege R500 Laptop Review

Toshiba has been competing with HP and DELL in the laptop markets, but for this special laptop, you are looking to compare it with Sony VAIO X505VP. Toshiba Protege R500 is unbelievably light, claims to be weighing only 780g but Trusted Reviews has found out that it was weighing only 755g. The 12-inch Laptop employs an LCD Screen with LED backlight. The 12″ widescreen allows more space on the keyboard and so the keys are slightly bigger than the 11″ laptops. The specification of this Ultra-portable laptop are the Intel Core 2 Duo 1.2GHz processor, 2GB RAM and a special 64GB Solid State Disk. The Low-Voltage processor keeps it running for a long time, while the 2GB RAM keeps the Vista operating smoothly and last is the 64GB Solid State Disk which tops the Solid State Disk available in laptops. The one reason that might cause people to switch to Sony is that this Toshiba laptop doesn’t have an optical drive, but instead it has an Ethernet port that Sony doesn’t. It also has fingerprint reader, SD card slots, USB ports and PC Card slot. The fingerprint reader in placed between the two touchpad keys.
Trusted Review has compared Protege R500 with VAIO X505VP and found out that in term of performance, Protege is better. The price of the Toshiba Protege R500 is set at £1,699 ($3,465).
