Firefox Set to Release a Mobile Browser
12 October 2007

Are you ready for the next generation browser on your phone? You will throw all your WAP browser or even the Safari browser on your iPhone when Firefox attacks Mobiles. The Mozillians (Mozilla folks) are working on the Firefox Browser Mobile Edition. Firefox, the most successive open-source browser, currently has over 100 million active users. They believes that they will be doing the same good on the mobile browser. Mozilla have figured out that nowadays there has been an incredible increase in the amount of internet users browsing through mobile. Mobile browsers are figured out to be 1:20 compared to computers. You can already access some of these Mozilla-browser on Nokia N800 or Firefox on Ubuntu Mobile.
The only problem that the Mozillians are facing is the fact that mobiles speed are way slower than computers speed. For example, iPhone has DRAM 128 Mb which is 10x slower than a MacBook Pro, 5x slower than normal laptops which is why Mozilla have to try harder. Since Intel are working on Mobile Chips and hopefully when its fast enough you’ll see Firefox on mobiles.
And if Firefox makes it to the mobile phones, many of the iPhone users might switch to Firefox from Safari. Mozillians have confirmed that Firefox won’t be arriving before 2008 so please be patient. They also haven’t decided which platform will the browser be running on or which version on Firefox will be releasing for Mobiles.
Did we leave out anyone in this topic? OH YES, MICROSOFT, WHERE ARE YOU???
