All the delays and waiting of the Mac OS X Leopard has finally came to an end as few hours ago Apple has made their OS X 10.5, codenamed Leopard, available. Over the past 6 years Apple has made 5 major changes to their OS X and this change seems to be one of the biggest change. Apple claimed to be introducing over 300 features to their OS X in this new Operating System. The several features that are update includes:
- Desktops — gives you a new feel & looks of the new file stacks and keeps your desktop cleans
- Finder — browse files by their looks or their cover
- Quick Look — browse, play, view files without opening them
- Time Machine — see how how system looked on a given day and restore files if needed
- Email — email personalized stationery, take notes and write to-do lists
- iChat — video chats with effects and backdrops and get more from text
- Spaces — create custom workspace to stay clutter-free and organized
- Safari — the Mac browser gets some new features
- Parental Controls — give your child a safer & happier browsing
- Boot Camp — allows you to run Windows on Mac

If you need more explanation about the OS X Leopard then you should have a look at their Guided Tour. You can get a single-pack (for single user) at $129 and family-pack (for upto five-users) at $199. We would not like to compare this OS X with Vista as we need a little time to make sure of that. And this isn’t a total change of the OS X as how Microsoft made the Windows Vista to cover XP.
